The cleat locks rudder downhaul ropes securely. and will flip up automatically to release the rope if the blade hits an obstacle or the bottom. No parts to lose and nothing to replace ; easy to reset or adjust for different loads. even out on the water.
The release load is easily adjusted with a cross-head screwdriver. from 20 kg (minimum setting) to 240 kg (maximum setting).
